UKHSA Latest Data โ ENGLAND ONLY
- 506 deaths in England [within 28 days of first positive test result for COVID-19] were reported in the last 7 days.
- 39,461 new coronavirus infections in the last 7 days according to the latest England data report - the actual number England-wide is potentially significantly higher, always worth checking out the data provided by the ONS and by the Kingโs College team in the accompanying tables.
- 212,729 coronavirus infections have been reported across England in the last 28 days according to data in the latest England data report.
- The number of deaths in England in the past week equates on average to around 72 deaths each of the past 7 days. If this was to be the โnew normalโ for daily deaths caused by COVID-19, then annually this would equate to around 26,384 deaths across England.
- Meanwhile, a total of 3,402 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported across England in the last 28 days.
- 505 COVID-19 hospital admissions in England occurred on 23 May 2022.
- 4,489 patients suffering from COVID-19 are currently occupying hospital beds in England โ reported as of 25 May 2022.
- 137 COVID-19 patients are occupying mechanical ventilation beds in England - according to the data reported on 25 May 2022.
- All three of these healthcare measures remain a concern for our under-pressure NHS.
SO FAR:
- 846 days since the first infection due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus was reported in Britain (31 January 2020)
- 810 days since the first reported death in Britain (6 March 2020). Coronavirus has now been responsible for infecting around 18.7 million people in England (according to the official reported positive cases data)

- Likelihood of testing positive for COVID-19 lower among recently vaccinated โ ONS
People who had received any vaccine up to 14 days previously were generally less likely to test positive for COVID-19 than those who reported not being vaccinated, in the fortnight to 7 May 2022.
This was also true over the same period among those who had received a fourth vaccine dose between 15 and 90 days previously.

To every govt allowing mass infection because - vaccination - please read this. An excess burden of post-covid sequelae of 120/1000 (12%) among those with breakthrough infection & excess burden of death of 1.3% *post-COVID* at 6 months is not a cost any country can 'live with'. https://t.co/jnzo1NByhl

1 in 5 US adults who were diagnosed with Covid reported suffering from a long-term health condition that may be related to their illness, according to a new CDC study. That's strikingโlong Covid is affecting millions of people.

comment
Since February, the UKHSA has stopped publishing COVID updates at weekends. Now they take place on Mondays and Thursdays only. And since 20 May, the UK dashboard has stopped updating Northern Ireland data altogether.
The virus doesnโt take a break at weekends, nor does it show up twice a week only. It spreads and kills people every day in the UK and around the world.
We, at PMP, have decided to continue to publish the latest COVID data available every day, especially the Zoe COVID Study estimates โ probably more accurate than the UK Governmentโs own data since free testing has ended in England.
