▫ Sunak fined again

It is an unprecedented event in history that a sitting Prime Minister has been fined for breaking the law. Rishi Sunak has become the second such Prime Minister in the past 12 months, as Lancashire Constabulary has issued him with a fixed-penalty notice for not wearing a seatbelt while filming a video for his social media.

This follows the Metropolitan Police’s punishment of Sunak and Prime Minister Boris Johnson for attending Downing Street parties during lockdown. This marks a significant moment in British history and serves as a reminder that even the highest office in the land is not above the law.
