▫ Sunak: Questions need answering about Zahawi’s taxes

PM Rishi Sunak has issued a statement declaring that his Ethics Adviser, Laurie Magnus, has been instructed to investigate the suggestions that Boris Johnson’s former Chancellor, Nadhim Zahawi, paid a penalty to HMRC over millions of pounds in unpaid taxes.

Sunak has asserted the importance of “integrity and accountability” and has stated that Zahawi has agreed to cooperate with the investigation. He has made it clear that “questions that need answering” must be addressed.
