In his speech at Bloomsberg on Friday, the Chancellor has quashed speculation that HS2 trains will not run to Central London, emphatically stating that he does not see “any conceivable circumstances” in which the planned Euston terminus wouldn’t go ahead. He further declared his pride in the Conservative government for having “shovels in the ground building HS2” and for making it happen.
