What if a country has made such a series of catastrophic decisions that it cannot afford to help people in other parts of the world or protect the planet anymore?
Fossil fuels were named as the problem at COP26. We’re no closer to eliminating them a year on.
Don’t expect much at this year’s COP27 than new pledges and promises. But if you hope for a Paris-style “Sharm El-Sheikh agreement”, you will be disappointed: countries are not doing what they have promised at previous COPs.
